General & Preventive Dentistry
The care that keeps everything else simple.
Preventive visits help your family avoid bigger, more expensive problems and keep healthy smiles for life.
We look beyond individual teeth to your gums, bite, airway, habits, and overall oral health.
Treatment details
Use the overview cards above to jump directly to the preventive service you want to understand.
Prevention first
Professional cleanings remove plaque and hardened buildup that brushing and flossing cannot fully reach. During the exam, we evaluate teeth, gums, bite, soft tissues, and changes since your last visit.
Your recommended schedule is based on your gum health, cavity risk, medical history, and individual needs.
Care through every stage
Children, adults, and older family members have different needs. We tailor cleanings, exams, imaging, fluoride, sealants, restorations, and home-care guidance to each person’s age and comfort level.
Keeping care in one office also helps us understand family history and watch development over time.
Gum health at home
Gum disease is a bacterial infection below the gumline. Professional care and daily cleaning are the foundation of treatment; for appropriate patients, a custom Perio Tray® can deliver prescribed medication into areas a toothbrush cannot reach.
The comfortable tray is used at home for minutes a day as one part of an individualized periodontal plan. If you have gingivitis or periodontitis, ask whether PerioProtect is right for you.
Protection for deep grooves
Sealants are a thin protective coating applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth, where grooves can trap food and bacteria. The tooth is cleaned, the material is painted on, and it is cured in place during a comfortable visit.
They are common for children and teens, and some adults with decay-prone grooves may also benefit.
A clearer view
Low-dose digital X-rays reveal areas that cannot be evaluated by sight alone, including decay between teeth and changes around roots or supporting bone. Intraoral images help document visible conditions up close.
We use these tools when clinically appropriate and show you the findings so recommendations are easier to understand.
The mouth and the whole body
Your oral health can reflect and influence broader health concerns. We consider inflammation, gum health, breathing, sleep, medications, and medical history when evaluating your dental needs.
Screening does not replace medical diagnosis; when something deserves further attention, we explain the finding and coordinate an appropriate next step.
We recommend care based on your health—not on what an insurance plan happens to cover—and explain every option clearly.
Many patients benefit from visits about every six months, though gum health and individual risk may call for a different schedule.
They are especially useful for children and teens, but adults with decay-prone grooves may benefit too.
It is a customized tray system that delivers medication below the gumline as part of an individualized gum-health plan.
